Working with Carol:  Invest in Your Happiness

We invest in funds and insurance for our financial future, shelter and vehicles for our bodies, education and entertainment for our minds. To partner with a facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie is an investment as well—in your peace, your clarity, your well-being—with an unparalleled rate of return.

A facilitator keeps you focused on your inquiry, supporting you to identify and explore the origins of what's hurting you so that you can address your problems from a clear perspective. Many people find that with a facilitator, they are better able to delve more deeply into thoughts that, unquestioned, disturb the peace.

Working with a facilitator is also a good way to begin a consistent and committed personal practice. As a trusting relationship develops between us, you will be able to sit with discomfort and resistance and allow your realizations find you. As you make this simple process a regular practice, you eventually become your own facilitator, with a way to wake yourself up for life.

Session preparation:  Sessions (except for Extended Sessions) last one hour and begin and end on time; arriving late reduces your session time, no exceptions. Please come prepared for each session with a filled-out Judge-Your-Neighbor worksheet, available at TheWork.com.

Required reading: The first step on this path to self-discovery is to read one or more of Byron Katie's books, beginning with Loving What Is by Byron Katie, available for purchase here. I also highly recommend the six CD-set, Your Inner Awakening. A selection of Byron Katie's books and recordings is available here.

Homework assignments: The most profound experience of The Work comes from the daily, onging individual practice of inquiry. I assign homework in the form of tailored exercises and/or lists of underlying beliefs for independent work in-between sessions. I welcome and encourage you to report on your experience of the assignment via email or at the begining of the next session. The purpose of homework is to suport and accelerate your own personal growth; completion of any assignment is optional, a suggestion. Not doing the homework should not be considered a reason to skip a session.

Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If at any time you are not completely satisfied, any unused portion of your prepaid sessions will be returned (based on $150 hourly rate).

Payment for all sessions is due on or before your first session. I accept cash (in person), money orders, personal checks payable to Carol L. Skolnick, or credit card payments (minimum $600) via PayPal. Sessions are by phone or, if local, in person. Client is responsible for telephone charges unless otherwise arranged. Discounts and exchanges may be available on an individual basis; please ask!

Terms, Rescheduling and Cancellation
Requests to reschedule prepaid appointments must be received 48 hours in advance or the entire fee for that session will be deducted from the total; exceptions made at the sole discretion of the facilitator. For workshops and group events, we are able to hold dates once we receive a 50% deposit of the entire fee. Deposits are nonrefundable for cancellations but may be applied to sessions conducted within six months of the original scheduled program date. Please note that rescheduling requests made fewer than 30 working days before the program date may result in an additional expense.
